February Ramble #1: Al Jumayliah

Gathering Place and Time: 05:30am – Meetup location is 30 minutes from Doha center and will be shared with confirmed participants.13:00 Woqod Petrol Station #25 Lijmiliya, Al Jumailiya

Trip Registration

Include your name, membership number and status, number of participants, and phone number (and Whatsapp number if different).

COVID-19 restrictions being the new norm, we’ll have a limited number of participants. So please register as soon as possible, and honor your commitment. Masks and Etheraz app are mandatory.

 

Trip Summary:

The recent rains has provide a very opportunity to witness the benevolence of nature first hand.  The rains have been transforming the desert and we can watch the changes in the terrain and visit some Rawdat to see the plant and animal life there. 

This event is open to all present and past members as our registration process is still on. However priority will be given to new members. Members can take this opportunity to renew their membership by bringing cash payments (Single membership is QAR 75 and family membership is QAR 150 per annum). Assembly point details will be provided to members that register for the ramble.

 

What to bring?

  • Plenty of water & Snacks
  • Sun Protection: sun glasses, hat & sunscreen
  • Camera, Binoculars
  • 4x4 is not required.

There are many small mosques in Al Jumailiya for Friday prayers if you want to reach early

Notice:  Please remember that every person attending the Ramble is responsible for their well-being and safety. Make sure to carry you QID and Ehtaraz App.  As Covid restrictions are in place, we do not encourage potluck.

Children are welcome to join our activities, but should remain under parents supervision

A birding enthusiast by day, an astronomer by night and an engineer in between. Behind me are hundreds of pinhole projections of the eclipsed sun from Doha earlier in 2020. I'm proud to live with my 8 inch telescope, a bunch of cameras, a bicycle and three daughters!
