January Ramble: Exploring North Western Qatar

Gathering Place and Time:  Gathering Time and Place: We will meetup at 02:00pm at Woqod pump station Lakhdiera. (About 01 hour drive from Doha)

Registration is mandatory. This event is open to all present and past members as our registration process is still on. However priority will be given to present members. Members can take this opportunity to renew their membership by bringing cash payments (Single membership is QAR 75 and family membership is QAR 150 per annum).

Trip Summary:

We invite you to visit the North Western regions of Qatar with us. We will move in areas around Zubara and explore the flora and fauna in the region.  We will also visit a Rawdat in the region.

A birding enthusiast by day, an astronomer by night and an engineer in between. Behind me are hundreds of pinhole projections of the eclipsed sun from Doha earlier in 2020. I'm proud to live with my 8 inch telescope, a bunch of cameras, a bicycle and three daughters!

What to Bring

  • Plenty of water & Snacks
  • Sun Protection: sun glasses, hat & sunscreen
  • Camera, Binoculars, and nature field guides for birds and desert plants
  • Please carry additional warm clothing. Expected temperature is around 19 degree C. It may be windy.

Notice:  Please remember that every person attending the Ramble is responsible for their well-being and safety. Make sure to carry you QID and Ehtaraz App.  As Covid restrictions are in place, we do not encourage potluck.

Children are welcome to join our activities, but should remain under parents supervision
