Trip Summary:

Can you tell a simple leaf from a compound leaf? Whats a bipinnate leaf? Why do leaves change colors in autumn?

We will meetup at Bidda park and make our way through the park, exploring and discussing all these and other things. We will not leave any leaf unturned in our quest to know more about them!

Young are encouraged to bring a pencil and pad so that they can draw/trace the shape of fallen leaves (We will not pluck any leaves for this purpose).

Please note that photography with hand-held cameras is not allowed at Bidda Park. You can take photos with your mobile phones only.

Trip leader:

  • Omar Bin Abdul Aziz Bio

A birding enthusiast by day, an astronomer by night and an engineer in between. Behind me are hundreds of pinhole projections of the eclipsed sun from Doha earlier in 2020. I'm proud to live with my 8 inch telescope, a bunch of cameras, a bicycle and three daughters!
