January Ramble: visit the Al Karaana lagoons site

Saturday January 12th, 2019

We start the new year with a unique opportunity to visit the Al Karaana lagoons site, as it undergoes major work. As a reminder, Al Karaana Lagoons have been used for years as an industrial sewage dumping area. Qatar (Ashghal) has decided to clean the area to preserve the environment. We’ll be allowed to see the changes that are taking place, and observe the wildlife that still uses the site as a habitat.

Please note that since we’ll be entering an active construction site, there will be some restrictions applied.  We have to limit the number of participants. Children will not be allowed on this trip, and closed shoes are a must. 4x4 is not required, we can carpool from our meeting point and convoy to the site of the lagoons.
