Ramble Summary
The fall bird migration brings diverse birds to middle eastern land and sea. Some of these birds take a pitstop in the trees and near water bodies, whereas others make it their winter home. The fall migration brings abundance to another otherwise arid bird landscape in Qatar. Join us to enjoy the euphony of birds and their sounds in a farm setting. We will also explore water birds in a lagoon environment.
Trip Leader Bio
( Kuei-Chiu-Chen)
Originally from Taiwan with a degree in marine biology, Kuei-Chiu Chen received her master’s degree in Zoology from the University of Texas at Austin and Ph.D. in biology from New York University. She has worked as a forensic biologist in New York City’s Medical Examiner’s Office and taught at UCLA and Cornell University in the US. Since joining Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) in 2012, she has received multiple grants from Qatar National Research Fund and WCM-Q to support her student research on biodiversity and conservation of animals in Qatar. She joined QNHG committee in 2024 to support the group’s citizen science programme.

- Children are welcome to join our activities but should remain under parents’ supervision.
- We will be taking photographs during the ramble. Your registration will be considered as a consent to be featured in the photographs. These photographs may feature the ramble participants and may be used on our social media. If you prefer not to be included in any of the photos, please inform us in advance at the time of registration.
- You are also welcome to take nature and group photos during the ramble. However, if you are taking an individual’s photo, please seek prior consent.
