Registration is mandatory, This event is open to all present and past members as our registration process is still on. Members can take this opportunity to renew their membership by bringing cash payments (Single membership is QAR 75 and family membership is QAR 150 per annum). Assembly point details will be provided to members that register for the ramble.

Ramble Summary
Want to know more about Qatar’s geological history? Or how the desert affects the rocks & landscape? Then this is the ramble for you!
We’ll do an early morning ramble amongst rocky outcrops in central southern Qatar near Al Kharrara to observe geological features and discuss their origin, from sea to dunes.
As usual, we may also encounter birds, wildlife, and desert plants, so be prepared for anything!
Trip Coordinator Bio
(Dr Treena Bron)
Dr Treena Bron is a geologist (BScHon, PhD) with expertise in sedimentology, petroleum geology, planetary geology and environment. She has worked in research, industry and academia and done fieldwork worldwide from Africa to Canada, from Arctic to Outback. She is a passionate naturalist & environmental advocate
What to bring?
- It’s getting hotter! Bring plenty of water ! Snacks
- Sun Protection: sun glasses, hat & sunscreen, long shirt strongly adivised
- Camera, Binoculars (optional)
- 4WD not required, but SUV prefered.
