Qatar has a rich fauna and flora but one that is not without some hidden dangers. During this talk, we will explore different types of venomous species indigenous to Qatar, describe signs and symptoms of envenomation, and become familiar with the Qatar Poison Center and its free services to the country. |

Dr. Leena Amine is the manager of the Qatar Poison Center in Doha. She is a clinical pharmacist and a poison information specialist, with special interest in envenomation and in pediatric poisonings. Dr. Amine is board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist and as a critical care pharmacist, and has extensive experience in emergency medicine, internal medicine, toxicology, and pediatric emergency medicine. Dr. Amine earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed her residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Illinois. |
