Synopsis:

Bodies of water, small or big, have been a subject of artistic depictions across multiple disciplines across time. In the past decade, the theme of water has been the subject and the framework for international biennales and exhibitions but also a subject matter for artists to create and think with. What discussions have taken place? Why are they urgently needed? And how do they resonate with the context of Qatar?

Speaker Bio

Lina Patmali is Head of Curatorial Affairs at Rubaiya Qatar under Qatar Museums. She has previously worked as a researcher and later Head of Exhibitions at the National Museum of Qatar, curating and managing exhibitions. Her research interests include the exploration of interdisciplinary curatorial practices, the construction of narratives, and the integration of ecological thought in exhibition-making.
