Ramble Summary

1)  Jazirat Bin Ghannam (Purple Island)
Jazirat Bin Ghannam (Purple Island), just north of Al Khor, is a haven of biodiversity and a place of important heritage in Qatar. Archaeological sites exist nearby, birds/wildlife can be observed, traditional fishing methods were practiced here and the geological formation of the island resembles Zekreet. Our guest ramble leader, Dr Robert Carter, joins us from Qatar Museums with his archaeology expertise.

As a part of Sustainability Week, we will ramble here to enjoy the mangrove ecosystem while learning about the natural history and heritage of the area, as well as the importance of conservation of our natural spaces.
