From satellites to on-the-ground action, this talk shows how space technologies can accelerate sustainability with practical examples from around the world and in Qatar. Dr. Hakimdavar will translate Earth observation “pixels to policy,” with practical pilots from coastal and mangrove monitoring to water quality and air quality mapping, and EO dashboards that connect government, academia, startups, and communities. She’ll close with clear ways to get involved in a space for sustainability innovation ecosystem.
Speaker Bio
Raha Hakimdavar works at the intersection of space technology and environmental resilience. Her work focuses on translating satellite and geospatial data into decision support for climate adaptation, water and food security, coastal and urban planning, and disaster risk reduction. She collaborates with scientists, practitioners, and policymakers to bridge the gap between cuttingedge Earth observation and on the ground impact, and is passionate about mentoring the next generation of space enabled environmental stewards.
